Apple said in a statement Thursday that it was aware of 12 incidents linked to the plugs and asked customers to stop using them. The plugs came with MacBooks and iPads, older models of iPhones and iPods, and in Apple world travel adapter kits.
The plugs were sold in Continental Europe and five other countries around the world, including Australia and South Korea, in the past 12 years. Affected users can get new plugs at their local Apple store or request a refund on the company's website.
